Frequently asked questions

What to Do If My Roof Is Leaking?

Roof leak repairs can be as simple as a dab of silicone or as complicated as needing a completely new roof. Leaks can be caused by hail damage, wind damage, your roof’s age, improper shingle installation, and even from windows and siding. A small leak can cause permanent damage and may put you and your family at risk for being exposed to black mold. If your roof is leaking, call Roof U.S. and one of our technicians will make an expedited visit to your property for free. We will provide you with a full report including photo and video documentation of whatever is causing the leak. After the causation is uncovered we will work with you on a plan of action to quickly repair your home.

What Can I Do If I Filed a Claim and the Adjuster Said There Was Only Partial or No Damage to My Roof?

If you’ve filed an insurance claim for damage to your roof and it was denied, you might still have options. Either the claim was rightfully denied or the adjuster missed the damage. If you disagree with the adjusters assessment of the damage, be sure to get a reinspection from a third party like us. Our inspectors have gone through extensive training on how to find, report, and dispute damage with the insurance companies. *Remember, the adjuster works for the insurance company, let Roof U.S. work for you.*

How Do I Avoid Being Scammed By a Contractor?

DO NOT PAY FOR ANY GOODS OR SERVICES UPFRONT. YOU ARE NOT THE CONTRACTOR’S BANK. Other things to look for: Find the company on BBB (Better Business Bureau), if they don’t have an account or have a bad rating, there might be a good reason for that. Ask your contractor to send you a copy of their business license, workers comp, and liability insurances. Have your contractor provide you with phone numbers from a couple of their existing customers. Give the customers a call and ask them about their experience. Make sure the company has been around for a while. Not all new companies are bad but using an established company comes with experience and greater peace of mind. Cheapest isn’t always the best. When a contractor is willing to do a job below market price, there’s usually a reason. You’ll save money and headaches in the long run by using the right company for the job. Pay your deductible! Missouri Senate Bill 101 requires homeowners to pay their deductible. If a contractor is willing to break the rules before the job even starts, they may be cutting corners on your repairs as well.
